Clément Poirel has been installed since 2020 in Beaulieu-sur-Layon, a town located in the heart of a small enclave south of Angers, where you can meet many young free wine talents.
He took over the domain of Jean-François Chéné. The vines are mainly planted on slate shales.
We had the chance to spend a privileged moment with him in his cellar (https://buvance.com/en/blogs/news/buvance-sur-les-routes-le-layon), where we were able to taste his creations directly.
Clément seeks freshness and liveliness. Its reds are light in alcohol, on the still crunchy fruit. On the white side, incredible Chenin who rests quietly in barrels before being bottled.
