The South-West wine region is distinguished by its great geological and climatic diversity: clay-limestone soils, volcanic and alluvial soils, temperate climate and oceanic or continental influence depending on the area. This richness allows the emblematic grape varieties – Malbec, Merlot, Tannat, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon and Gros Manseng – to produce rich, aromatic and structured South-West wines, fully reflecting the identity of their terroir.

An exceptional terroir revealed by the South-West AOCs

The South-West brings together many prestigious AOCs: Cahors, Madiran, Gaillac, Jurançon, Buzet, Fronton, Côtes de Gascogne and Irouléguy.
The varied soils, associated with local microclimates, offer distinctive, powerful and delicious wines, and allow some local specificities such as sweet wines.
