The Beaujolais wine region is recognized for its granite soils, its well-exposed slopes, its temperate climate and the historical know-how of its winegrowers. This unique combination offers an incomparable expression of Gamay, an emblematic grape variety of the Beaujolais vineyard, renowned for producing fruity, elegant and highly drinkable wines. Thanks to this strong identity, Beaujolais stands out as a dynamic, innovative region deeply attached to the notion of terroir.

An exceptional terroir carried by the Beaujolais wines

From Beaujolais-Villages to the prestigious Crus du Beaujolais – Morgon, Fleurie, Juliénas, Moulin-à-Vent, Chiroubles, Régnié, Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, Chénas and Saint-Amour – the region reveals all the diversity of its terroirs.
The granite, shale and granite sand soils favor a precise and structured aromatic expression, giving rise to Beaujolais red wines that are delicious, mineral and deep.

Natural wine in Beaujolais: pioneer of an international movement

Beaujolais is one of the pioneering regions of natural wine. From the 1980s, emblematic winegrowers like Marcel Lapierre, Jean Foillard and Yvon Métras initiated a renewal based on respect for the soil and the grapes. Even today, estates located in Villié-Morgon, Fleurie, Brouilly and Saint-Étienne-des-Oullières perpetuate this philosophy.

Beaujolais has thus become a world reference for natural wines.
